For Immediate Release
7 May 2001

Founder's Epochal Publishing Systems Adopted by
Singapore's Premier News Publisher

(Hong Kong - 7 May 2001) Founder Holdings Limited ("Founder Holdings", SEHK: 418) today announces that a software and service-providing contract ("the SPH contract") was just entered into between PUC Founder (MSC) Berhad ("Founder (MSC)"), Founder Holdings' 49% associated company in Malaysia, and Singapore Press Holdings Limited ("SPH"), Singapore's largest news publisher and premier information provider.

Under the SPH contract, Founder (MSC) will provide two of Founder's epoch-making electronic publishing systems, namely, Founder Wentao () News Editorial System (latest version, v5.0) and Founder Integrated Typesetting () System (latest version, v4.0), to SPH's three Chinese newspaper publishing units, namely, Lianhe Zaobao (), Lianhe Wanbao () and Shinmin Daily News (). The software-providing part of this contract alone amounts to around 2 million Singapore Dollars (i.e. around 8.5 million Hong Kong Dollars).

Like what Founder's electronic publishing systems previously did for many other international renowned newspaper publishers - People's Daily (), Guangzhou Daily (), Xinmin Evening News () and Yangcheng Evening News (), to name a few - the realization of the SPH contract is to mark the Age of Wholly-digitalized Non-paper Publishing for SPH's three Chinese newspaper publishing units and to enhance the management of their Editorial Departments through the use of Founder's electronic publishing systems.
